This paper is a complete survey of different search engine optimization techniques and large number of related techniques in diverse disciplines, including Online Adverting Market, Anchor Text, Cloaking, Link Farming, Duplicate domain, Redirection, Keywords stuffing, hidden text, Link popularity spam, blog-spam, Guest-book spam, FFA pages, Negative impact of web ranking, Contents in images, HTML Links, Dynamic URL’s. Applications discussed are Easily searchable and take a lot of time with developing your website’s content, Make the overall design user friendly, Vary the keyword for each individual web page, Make sure that your hyper links are visible, accessible and informative, Learn how to lead traffic to your site. At last we relate various techniques with application areas and also explain their future scope. We intend this paper to be useful to researchers and practitioners interested in search engine optimization.
