ABSTRACT:
Plates with the variable thickness have great importance in the modern technology. A simple model is presented to study the effect of thermal gradient on vibration of non-homogenous square plate with varying thickness in x and y directions. Rayleigh-Ritz technique has been applied to obtain corresponding equation of frequency. The natural frequency for the first two modes of vibration is calculated for different values of thermal gradient, taper constant and non-homogenous constant at various points. All the results are presented in graphical and tabular form.
